GANG HIARCHY
The gang is made of three groups. The first one is called the Inner Cadre. The Inner Cadre holds the leader, and his three heirs. The heirs are choosen by the leader, and usually consist of his blood relatives or close friends. There are two inner cadres, one for the humans, and one for the wolves. Wolves and Humans are ran seperately, the humans by the human ruler, and the wolves by the said human's bondmate. The human and wolf have to agree on the three - as they are called - as the bondmate of a chosen person will also become the three in the corresponding inner cadre. The three, besides being revered, have very limited power. There task is to watch the leader, and learn from his/her actions. Should the leader die, the three will fight the other members of the three with their bondmate. The surviving pair will then take control.
The Outer Cadre is the second group. It is consisted of eight bond-pairs. The strongest pair in each guild. They are refered to as Master [insert name here] They run day-to-day problems within their guild, but have to answer to the gang leader. Should one master die or come to enough harm as to hinder his ability in leading his guild, the leader will either allow the three to choose a guild member that they believe is the best of that said guild, or choose the person/wolf himself. Bonded pairs are still treated as one unit, but the stronger member of the bond holds the most sway in leading the guild.
The Outer Cadre also contains guildmembers - bonded pairs who have mastered at least one guild.
The final group - Die Voor (Afrikaans for The Before) - holds students, bonded pairs who have yet to master a guild. Students take care of all of the mundane chores around the guild camp. There are two kinds of students - forced and otherwise - but that will be discussed when I discuss initiation. The choosing of the guild and the process of mastering the guild shall be discussed after i discuss initiation.
Die Voor also includes people who are not members of the gang, but under the protection of a member, or of the gang itself.
INITIATION
There are two types of initiation. The first one is voluntary. A member and their bondmate search to become members of the gang. They are brought in, and judged by the leader and his bondmate. If they see fit, the prospective member begins initiation.
The prospective member is seperated from his bondmate. They are stuck in seperates spots of the woods with nothing. For a week they are monitered and routinely assualted by members of various guilds. After a week, the two are brought back to the gang HQ. Members that attacked them during the said week meet with the masters and the leaders. The leader then decies whether the pair deserve entrance into the guild.
The other initiation, is involuntary. A pair are taken captive and then held on trial. After a brief pre-inititation where the pair fights gangmembers, the stronger of the two go through normal initiation, with one twist. The members attacking them are at liberty to kill if they see fit. The weaker of the pair is taken as a prisoner of sorts, as incinive for the other to cooperate.
Should the stronger survive inititation yet be proclaimed unworthy by the leaders, the leader of his species will kill him/her. However, should the stronger of the pair be proclaimed worthy, he/she will be put into a guild and resume training as a normal student.
TRAINING
Level 1 After a student is placed in a guild, he/she then has one month in which to prove himself/herself. After the month is up, students are either graduated to level 2 or transfered to a guild more sutiable for their skills. Bonded pairs are trained seperately.
Level 2 Students are put through vigorous training. Training only lasts one or two weeks before students are tested. Students that fail are put back into to training until the next test. Students that pass are graduated to level 3. Bonded Pairs are trained seperately.
Level 3 Students are reintroduced to their bonded pair. They are trained to work efficiantly together. Students who were forced to involuntarily join are paired together with their oposite species - another forced person. Obviously its not as efficiant, as they lack the mental bond. However, at this level, failure is not tolerated. After a month or so, students are tested. Those who fail continue level 3 training. Those who pass move on to level 4.
Level 4 The final level of training. Students move into loads and loads of feild work, though generally simple stuff. They must be accompanied by atleast two guildmembers of their guild. After two or three weeks, they are sent on a solo mission. If they survive, they become a full fledged guildmember.
CROSS GUILDING
Guild members may cross guild into as many guilds as they can manage. However, they assume responcibilities for every guild they master. They must attend all meetings, and obey verdict of all of the masters above them, however, should the verdict of one guild be pitted against another, the guild they mastered first will overrule. E.i. The rules of their deux-guild would overrule those of their trois-guild, should any contridict one another. Member who wish to cross guild simply become a student under the trainer training in the guild they wish to cross-guild into. The cease going on missions and basically become a student again, but with a bit more lee-way.
TATTOOS
Tattoos are created by drawing a peice of hot metal over the flesh of the person recieving the tattoo - which creates the outline. Details are made by deep cuts. Tattoos are basically scars made in a certain pattern.
Humans After succesfully completing initiation, the new member is given an X on the back of his neck, marking him a gang member.
After mastering a guild, the guild symbol is tattooed onto the person. Each tattoo is placed in a specific spot, but i cant remember.
guild-une | Right forearm guild-deux | Left forearm guild-trois | Between the shoulder blades guild-quatre | Below tri-guild guild-cinq | below quatre-guild guild-six | below guild-un guild-sept | below guild-duex guild-huit | center of back, just above waistlane and just below guild-sept.
Everyone knows gangs kill people. And this gang likes to keep track of it. For the first kill, a ring is carved around the left wrist, like a bracelet. The next eight kills are marked by vertical burns that are about an inch long. They are burned in a circle around the arm, just above the first mark. The tenth kill is marked just like the first, and the next eight are marked the same way. After that, every individual kill is marked the same as kill 2 thru kill 8. The rows of line gradually increase. E.i. the first row holds eight kills, the second holds nine, the thirds holds ten. After a ring is filled on the left arm, a ring is started on the right, and they alternate like that. When a member takes place in a fight in which it is impossible to tell how many people they killed, a ring is added like the first one. The ring is added above the highest circle of lines. I know its confusing.
Masters are given a star tattoo burned around the hollow just below their throat.
The three are given similiar tattoos, except a circle is added around the star, touching each point.
The leader is given a tattoo similar to that of one of the masters, though they are on his palms, and drewn as not just the outline, but the lines inside too - like how little kids learn to draw stars - and a dot in the center. They also have the tattoo of one of the three.
People under the guild's protection are given the tatoo of a hummingbird just under their ear, on the left side. Imbellishments are given depending on whose protection the person is under.
Wolves The wolves tattoos are made with knives dipped in the juice of a fruit native to the island after the explosion. It slightly alters the DNA of the hair folicles, either lightening them or darkening them. (I think ill have to ask Cay about this one, but if the chemicles are in the plants, i figure some of them would be freaky-ish and different now)
After succesfully completing inititation, an x is carved under the wolf's head, where the head attaches to the throat.
After mastering a guild, the guild symbol is tattooed onto the wolf. Each tattoo is placed in a specific spot, but i cant remember. I think its as follows. But changes might be made when i get my notes.
guild-une | left for-shoulder guild-deux | right forshoulder guild-trois | left hip guild-quatre | right hip guild-cinq | below guild-un guild-six | below guild-duex guild-sept | below guild-tres guild-huit | below guild-quatre
For every five kills a ring is carved around the for-leg of the wolf's choice. The ring is just like that of a humans first kill.
Masters are given a star tattoo carved on top of the wolf's head - the point pointing toward their nose.
The three are given similiar tattoos, except a circle is added around the star, touching each point.
The leader is given a tattoo similar to that of one of the masters, though they are drewn as not just the outline, but the lines inside too - like how little kids learn to draw stars - and a dot in the center.
Wolves under the guilds protection are given a hummingbird tatoo on their left shoulder. Embellishments are given depending on whose protection the wolf is under.
GUILDS
Hitman | Leopard Bring in new recruits and collect debts.
Assasin | Hawk Used to make swift silent kills.
Healer | Deer Takes care of anyone injured.
Gaurd | Tasmanian Devil Guards all of the prisoners. Also give tatoos.
Trainer | Owl This guild includes two bonded pairs of each other guild. One bonded pair teaches 1st and 2nd levels, and the other teaches 3rd and 4th levels.
Spy | Snake Just like the name suggests, spys go into enemy territory, and gather information. Dont generally get tatoos.
Brawler | Bear The most useless guild. Used anytime brute force is needed. Members of this guild are strongly urged to cross-guild into another guild.
Pulser | Bat Give out punishments, carry out executions, and are also in charge of torchering information out of prisoners.
The animal beside the name is the guilds symbol.
